Elmira man needs community's help

July 24, 2022

An Elmira man was seriously injured while on his way to work the morning of Thursday, July 14, losing control of his motorcycle and colliding with a tree. Self employed and without insurance, Israel Gibbons will likely spend most of this summer in rehab and recovery, unable to work, and family and friends are doing all they can, and ask the community's help.

Israel was wearing a helmet and safety gear when he crashed or his injuries would have been much worse. Still, he suffered four spinal fractures, two cervical, two thoracic. He was transported to Boundary Community Hospital and later flown by Life Flight to Kootenai Medical. He is home now, but still faces a long, hard road to recovery.

A fundraiser has been established to help Israel and his family at GiveSendGo, and any amount will be appreciated, as will all prayers and words of encouragement.
