Winter storm watch issued

November 2, 2022

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a winter storm watch for an area including Boundary County for possibly heavy snow, in effect from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. One to four inches of snow is expected in the valleys with up to ten inches possible in the mountains.

Colder pockets in the valleys could see wet and heavy snowfall with higher accumulations. Because many deciduous trees have yet to shed leaves, the additional weight could bring down limbs or entire trees, which could lead to blocked roads and possible power outages.

Slick road conditions will make travel hazardous and potentially impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
