Naples man injured in collision with train

The Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle vs. train collision that occurred at approximately 5:53 p.m. today near US 95 at Samuels Road in Bonner County. A white 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was traveling westbound on Samuels Road when it was struck by a train. The SUV was occupied by a 62-year-old male driver from Naples, who was not named.

He was taken via air ambulance to a nearby hospital. He was wearing a seat belt. Traffic on US 95 was slowed for approximately one hour as emergency responders worked to assist the driver and clear the area.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
