Merritt named SBFPD's new chief

November 17, 2022

South Boundary Fire Protection District is proud to introduce Allen Merritt as its new fire chief. Allen has lived in North Idaho for 16 years and in Naples for eight years. Shortly after moving here, he volunteered at SBFPD, and in the last seven years has continued his fire education and training, and recently was selected to hold the Captain position.

Allen's father served as fire chief in Oso, Washington for 20 years, and following in his footsteps has been a lifelong goal. During his tenure with SBFPD, Allen has built a rapport with the community and fellow volunteers, offering mentorship and guidance while displaying excellent leadership qualities.

While the date has not been set, in the near future SBFPD will hold an open house so the community can join us in wishing Chief Merritt success.
