Winter weather advisory for North Idaho, NW Washington

February  20, 2023

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a winter weather advisory for far North Idaho and northeast Washington for snow and wind, in effect from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday. Between one and four inches of snow are expected in the valleys with five to 10 inches expected at higher elevations.

Snow is expected to begin accumulating in Boundary and Bonner Counties and around Metaline Falls Tuesday morning, then spread into the afternoon, pushed by winds gusting to 40 miles per hour.

Travel could be very difficult. Untreated roads will likely become very slick by early Tuesday evening as temperatures quickly drop.
