Winter snow advisory issued

March 9, 2023

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a winter weather advisory for snow in North Idaho and northeast Washington, in effect from 4 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. Motorists should prepare for winter driving conditions for the Friday morning commute.

Between two and five inches of new snow is expected in the valleys, six to 12 inches at elevations above 3,000 feet, with the heaviest snowfall expected between 6 and 10 a.m. Friday.

Travel conditions will improve late in the morning and early in the afternoon as temperatures climb into the mid and upper 30s. However, snow showers late in the day into the evening may produce additional localized accumulations late in the day and into the evening.
