Flood watch in effect Tuesday and Wednesday

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a flood watch for North Idaho and northeast Washington, in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon, with thunderstorms bringing the potential for heavy rain expected overnight Thursday.

Rain is expected to moderate and continue through Wednesday afternoon.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding in poor drainage and urban areas. Debris flows are also possible in steep terrain, especially recent burn scars.
