Last Second Harvest food distribution of season set

Wednesday, October 4, the Boundary County Fairgrounds will be the site for the final free mobile food distribution of the season. Second Harvest and volunteers will distribute at the west end of the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. until 1p.m.

Cars should enter the fairgrounds from the Fourth street entrance to line up.

No sign up or registration is necessary to pick up food, just a desire for help with food needs. Food usually includes staples, fresh produce, bakery, dairy and meat. Last month 240 families participated, receiving 18,000 pounds of food.

Volunteers from Trinity Lutheran Church and Echo Springs School are among the twenty volunteers who prepare and distribute food, but anyone is welcome to volunteer, beginning at 10 a.m. that morning.
