Cassandra Marie Spencer, born December 6, 1984, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2022, at the age of 37. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 1, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street, Bonners Ferry.
September 20
John Phillip Lefebvre took his last trip down Westside Road on September 18, 2022, passing away from a suspected Aortic Aneurysm during ambulance transit to Boundary Community Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at the Mirror Lake Golf Course clubhouse. Prior to the service, golfers are invited to join a nine-hole memorial tournament with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
Marie Louise (Pederson) Maggi passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Lewiston. She spent her childhood in Montana, moving to Bonners Ferry and graduating from high school in 1954. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Dan Meddock, a 1963 graduate of Bonners Ferry High School, died of multiple myeloma cancer on Monday, September 12. Plans are underway for a celebration of his life in Bonners Ferry. His obituary is pending.

Mary Ann Tritt, 67, Bonners Ferry passed away September 13, 2022. surrounded by family. Mary Ann was born April 17, 1955, to John and Mary VanEtten. Please join us to celebrate Mary Ann’s life at Living Waters Church, 6957 Labrosse Hill Road, Bonners Ferry at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24. Potluck and Fellowship to follow service, all are welcome.

Randy Lee Mendenhall, 68, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his home in Bonners Ferry with his wife Jeanna by his side. A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, October 1, at the Paradise Valley Grange Hall, 3661 Kootenai Trail Road, Bonners Ferry.
Bradley David Buerge was born on December 12, 1953, in Wadsworth, Ohio. He and his twin brother, Jody Lee, were born to Donald and Eunice Vining Buerge. He tragically passed away on September 12, 2022, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho at the age of 68 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at Mountain View Mennonite Church, 510752 US-95, Bonners Ferry, with graveside services to follow at Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery.

Merle Edwin Dinning passed away September 12, 2022, at Boundary Community Hospital surrounded by his wife, Carole and his children Leslie and Andrew. A funeral service will be held at 3 p .m. Saturday, September 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street, Bonners Ferry. Come help us celebrate Merle’s life.

Marjorie Ann Guynn, 77, a deeply loved and cherished daughter of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was also a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Marjorie, was a very generous and caring woman always willing to help others in need. She died on September 6, 2022, at her home in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by her family.

Marlene Ann Wickstrom Fallquist, 76, passed away peacefully in Seattle on August 30, 2022. Marlene was born in Bonners Ferry on September 10, 1945. Memorial Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street, Bonners Ferry.

Wendy White, 57, died peacefully at home on September 6, 2022, in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by her family. Wendy was born in Bonners Ferry August 31, 1965, the daughter of Ray and Carolyn Hanson Dinning, Bonners Ferry. Graveside Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.
Gordon "Gordy" Allured, 68, died peacefully Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home in Woodburn, Oregon, after a courageous 36-year battle with Parkinson’s disease and over six years with Lewy Body Dementia. A gathering of family and friends will be be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 24, at Mugsy's, Tavern & Grill, 7161 Main Street, Bonners Ferry. All friends and family are invited to stop in and share their memories.

Marilyn Annette Bauman was born March 8, 1936, in Naples, and passed away on August 13, 2022, of Alzheimer's disease. She was the first born of Evelyn (Krogseth) and Carl Cossairt. A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 South Montana Avenue, Caldwell, Idaho, with a luncheon to follow.

Jacob Allan Lee Hanson’s life was taken from his family, friends and loved ones in a tragedy on August 19, 2022, in Burlington Washington. A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at the Skagit Golf and Country Club, 16701 Country Club Drive, Burlington, Washington, with a reception following.

Alva Vernon Baker, 89, passed away on July 13, 2022. He was at home with his wife of 60 years, Peach, at his side. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street, Bonners Ferry. There will be a potluck to follow.

Douglas W. Miracle, 90, passed away the evening of August 1, 2022, at his home with his son Doyle by his side. At his request no funeral services will be held. There will be a celebration of life held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 4, at the home of Jane and Amanda Richards.
Winifred Casey Bensen, 100, passed away on August 25, 2022 at the Boundary County Nursing Home. Winifred was born on May 27, 1922, in Clifton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Thomas and Ali O'Toole Casey. No services are planned at this time.
Emily Valo Guthrie, 91, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022 at the Boundary Community Restorium. Emily was born on June 10, 1931, in Copeland, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys Hildreth Guthrie.
Michael Joseph Facha Sr., 71, passed away on August 26, 2022, at Boundary Community Hospital. Michael was born on November 19, 1950, in Grass Valley, California, the son of Richard and Charlotte Delwisch Facha. Private family services will be held.

Elizabeth “Betty” Douglas, 101, died August 6, 2022, at the Extended Care Facility in Bonners Ferry. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street.
August 25
Ralph Lee “Buffy” Richardson, 72, was born on February 7, 1950, in Havre, Montana, and passed August 9, 2022, in Orofino, Idaho, after a courageous, hard-fought, five-year battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held sometime in the fall.
August 22
Ruth Claire Long-Stickney was born in College Place, Washington, on March 6, 1929, to Ivan Dale Long and Ethel Sarah Hopkins-Long. Ruth passed away in her sleep on August 8, 2022, in Bonners Ferry at age 93.
August 18
Michael "Mike" Woodward, 76, Bonners Ferry, passed away at Boundary County Community Hospital on Monday August 15, 2022. He lost his multiyear struggle with dementia complicated by pneumonia and COVID. A celebration of life for the man who never wanted attention will be at 4 p.m. Saturday August 27, at United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry. A spaghetti feast and time of sharing will follow.
August 16
Raymond Frederick Knicely, 82, of Bonners Ferry, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, August 13, 2022. A visitation service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Kootenai Valley Mennonite Church, 782 Moon Shadow Road. The funeral service will be held there at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Glen Earl Mattox, Jr., was born May 3, 1944, in Bonners Ferry, the son of Glenn and Chloe Mattox. He passed away August 5, 2022, in Missoula at the age of 78. Viewing will be from 2to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 14, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 North Spokane Street, Post Falls. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 15, at the same location, followed by a reception, then a graveside service.

Wesley A. Dirks, 77, of Inman, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, surrounded by family at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 6, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, 597 6th Avenue, Inman. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the church, and burial will follow at Zion Church Cemetery.

Geraldine "Geri" C. Todd, 94, peacefully passed away in her sleep July 28, 2022. She had been living at the Extended Care Facility in Bonners Ferry since suffering from a stroke earlier this year. Services are to be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, at Immaculate Conception Church, 756 Highway 2 West, Troy.

Kevin Robert Larson, 60, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2022. He was born on February 9, 1962, to Lloyd and Mary Emma Larson in Bonners Ferry. Kevin spent his entire life in Bonners Ferry and loved the area. He was an avid golfer and spent much of his time outdoors. After graduating from high school Kevin worked at Penner’s Resaw Shop for a brief time, and then went to work at the mill in Moyie Springs, where he was still employed at the time of this death.
July 24
Betty Jean Robbins, 92, died peacefully on June 3, 2022, in the presence of her two daughters, Cynthia Copeland and Vicki Van Der Hoek, in The Oaks Of Stockbridge Assisted Living, Stockbridge, Georgia. Betty was cremated and a private service will be held in her husband Don's (who died March 26, 2014) hometown, Bonners Ferry, early October 2022 by her immediate family. The family will be spreading both of their ashes into the Kootenai River.

Patricia Irene Poulton was born February 9, 1935, in Winnett, Montana, to Tillman and Hazel Sandaker, joining her siblings Margie, Maurice, Gene with Allen to come later. She died July 20, 2022. Private services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Grandview Cemetery.

Nancy Ruth Ashburn Tucker, 91, Bonners Ferry, died at her home on the morning of Saturday, July 16, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, at the Bonners Ferry First Baptist Church, 6711 El Paso Street. Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Darrin Kucherry, 56, a lifelong resident of North Idaho, passed away the morning of December 20, 2021. His unexpected death was the result of a tragic logging accident on Hoodoo Mountain in Priest River. A memorial and potluck will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Rotary Club/Lions Den (Snow Creek Pond). Bring a dish, drinks and your chair. You can camp and don’t forget your fishing poles!
Dustin Cody Drapeau, loving soul mate, devoted dad, “biological step-dad”, son, brother, uncle, grandson and amazing friend, passed away at the age of 28 on Saturday July 16, 2022. or those who loved Dustin, we will be celebrating his life and sharing memories with a potluck on Saturday, July 23, at 1 p.m. going into the night at Northwoods Family Tavern and Restaurant in Naples.

David LeRoy Coats, 90, a resident of Sandpoint and formerly of Bonners Ferry, died Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Life Care Center of Sandpoint.

Alva Vernon Baker, 89, a Bonners Ferry legend, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his home surround by his family. He was born on March 13, 1933, in Porthill, the son of Alfred and Ora Huff Baker. Services are pending with the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.

Our very beloved wife, mom, and grandma Mary Ella (Bennett) Dirks was born August 20, 1945, in Sandpoint to Aubrey and Elaine Bennett and was raised near Morton Slough. In 1952, the family moved to Bonners Ferry.
David Mark Morton, born March 5, 1992, died accidentally on June 1, 2022. Join us in remembering Dave from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 20, at Alberta Abbey, 126 NE Alberta Street, Portland, Oregon. At age 15, David came to live at Schrom Boys Home, Bonners Ferry.

James Wallace Whitcomb, born to Wallace William Whitcomb (Wally) and Shirley Barbara Reedy March 15, 1932, in Bonners Ferry, died May 12, 2022.  An only child, he was survived by wife Louise E. Whitcomb, Des Moines, Washington, daughters Lynne R. Whitcomb, Scottsdale, Arizona, Sherry L. Whitcomb, Arizona, and Carolyn Kim Whitcomb, Waterville, Washington, sons James W. Whitcomb, Quincy, Washington, and Daniel Blaine Whitcomb, Federal Way, Washington, and nine grand kids.

Pete Conrad Leonard, 73, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, in Bonners Ferry. Services with full military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at Mt. Hall Community Church, 1554 Highway 1, Bonners Ferry.
Netra Sue Herford, 81, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2022, with her family by her side. Viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, also at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street, with a graveside service to follow at Grandview Cemetery.

Lawrence Joseph Brewer was born October 9, 1961, to Russell and Karen (Liston) Brewer in Sioux City, Iowa and passed away November 11, 2021, in Bonners Ferry. A celebration of life for Larry and his son Joey will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at 62 Rocking Tree Road, Bonners ferry. All who knew him are welcome to come.
Joseph Nathaniel Brewer was born June 10, 1994, to Larry Brewer and Debra Henderson. He passed away peacefully on March 11, 2022, from his third battle with cancer. Those of you who knew Joey are invited to his and his father's life celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at 62 Rocking Tree Road, Bonners Ferry.

William Warren Swartz took his last breath on June 22,2022. Warren, as he was always called, was the son of Daniel L. Swartz and Louise M. Stewart Swartz, born on November 15, 1927, in the house built by his maternal grandparents near Daisy, Washington. The doctor who delivered him had delivered his mother in the same house 26 years earlier.

Jeffery Jerome Jordan, 63, died peacefully at home in Bonners Ferry on June 24, 2022, surrounded by his family. Jeff was born on August 31, 1958, in Lucerne, California, the son of Robert and Millie Jordan Barrett. No services are planned at this time.

Lana DeBoer Brady, 60, said goodbye as she left us early Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021. A celebration of her wonderful life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Kootenai River Inn, 7169 Plaza Street, Bonners Ferry. Her family would love for you to join them and share your stories and favorite memories of Alana.

James G. "Jim" Tolle, 85, died on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Libby Care Center. No services are planned. He was born on February 14, 1937, in Ohio to James and Alice Tolle. Jim was stationed at the Air Force Radar Base in the Yaak in 1955. He went to Bonners Ferry with his friends to have some fun and that is where he met the dream girl of his life, Maryann Rose Eby.

Brenda Antoinette Dirks passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 7, 2022. Brenda was born August 25, 1957, to Ben and Blanche Studer. Private family services will be held.

Francis Peter Winey, 93, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022, at Sunset Home in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by family. Viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Grandview Cemetery.

William "Bill" Vernon Vetter was born in Bonners Ferry on October 24, 1942, to Vernon and Carlene Vetter. He passed away on May 25, 2022, in Houston, Texas at the age of 79. Bill attended grade school at Mount Hall and graduated in 1961 from Bonners Ferry High School. After high school, he attended college to study law and received his Master’s Degree.

Susan Carol "Sue" Howe finally lost her 45-year battle with MS at age 77 on May 28, 2022, after being airlifted from Boundary Community Hospital to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene. No public memorial services are planned at this time, and Grandview Cemetery burial services will be announced at a future date. Even though her body failed, her spirit never faltered. Sue, loved by all that met her, will be dearly missed.
June 1
Josephine Isabelle Abraham, 17, died in Coeur d'Alene on May 28, 2022. Josephine was born on June 2, 2004, in Sandpoint, the daughter of Aaron Francis and Twyla Basil. Viewing will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 2, with the vigil starting at 8 p.m. at the Kootenai Tribal Headquarters. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, with last viewing starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Mission Cemetery.
