Margaret Ellen (Gilligan) Alt, born February 5, 1940 in Yonkers, New York, died on March 15, 2023 in Post Falls, Idaho. Margaret was born to James T. and Marion P. Gilligan. Please join us in celebrating Margaret’s life at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 601 S Lincoln Avenue, Sandpoint.
Stanley Knight died March 1, 2023, in Bonners Ferry, at his home surrounded by his family. Stanley was born on April 2, 1937, in Birkenhead, England, the son of Stanley and Phoebe Davies Knight. No services are planned at this time.

John Read Schlener died March 14, 2023, at his home in Bonners Ferry. John was born on May 21, 1944, at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, the son of John and Frances Read Schlener. Funeral services to be announced.

Allen Wayne Allison died March 12, 2023, in Moyie Springs, surrounded by his family. Wayne was born on December 21, 1934, in Grand Island, Nebraska, the son of Ira and Lurlene Whitney Allison. No services are planned at this time.

Kristie Barton passed away on February 17, 2023, in Roseville, California, with family by her side. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry.
Lillian Virginia Brackebusch, 92, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2023, at Sunset Home in Bonners Ferry. We were blessed to have her for so many years ...so many good years. But this life is not forever, and now we must accept that God decided it was time to call her home. No services are planned at this time.

Billy Wayne Gorman, 90, passed away on February 8, 2023, in Bonners Ferry. A Celebration of Bill’s life will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, at First Baptist Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The memorial will be viewable online in Bonners Ferry at 528 Scenic Drive at 10 a.m. local time.

Sharon Lynn Burney passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023 surrounded by her family. Sharon was born March 5, 1942, in South Gate, California, to Harold and Lillian Rogers. There will be a memorial and celebration of life this summer to be announced at a later date.

Barbara Jo (Foster) Dinning, 87, passed away peacefully at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene with family by her side on February 20, 2023. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Daryl R. Anderson, 77, Libby, passed away at his home Sunday, February 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 29, 1945, in Bonners Ferry to Garland and Belle (Cummings) Anderson. Services for Daryl were held February 25 at Libby Christian Church, 100 Kootenai River Road.
Michelle Ann Colaianni, born April 28, 1989, to William Colaianni and Diane Gialombardo left her worldly body February 17, 2023, and is now wrapped in the arms of our sweet Jesus. Michelle loved Montana, loved her family, her dogs, chickens, turkeys, and friends. Being outdoors and riding in her side-by-side, fishing in the Kootenai, under the old bridge, or at Alvord Lake, is where she could be found most times. Side-by-side rides to Spar Lake, China Mountain, or even back roads to Bonners were her quiet peace rides.

Barbara Jean Brown passed away peacefully February 22, 2023, with her family and friends surrounding her. She was born to Madeline and John Kaus on November 26, 1945, in Newport, Washington. The Priest River Mortuary, 43 Wisconsin Street, Priest River, will hold a viewing at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, with graveside services at 11 a.m.

Alice Katherine (Fox) Sandaker, 92, passed away peacefully at home in Bonners Ferry with her family by her side on Feb 12, 2023. At her request no services will be held.
February 20
Darrell Dean Chronister, 88, passed away February 16, 2023, at his home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho was an only child, born on January 25, 1935, to John and Ella Mae (Hazelrigg) Chronister in Savannah, Missouri. He spent most of his life in the Kansas City, Missouri, area. He worked for a Ford dealership for 19 years as a service writer and assistant manager, until his diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Alice Wright passed away on February 15, 2023, at The Schneidmiller House in Coeur d'Alene. She was born on June 28, 1939, in California, the daughter of Joseph and Evelyn Silviera. No services are planned at this time.

Lillian Brackebusch died February 14, 2023, in Bonners Ferry, at Sunset Home Assisted Living. Lillian was born on March 8, 1930, in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Phillip and Margaret Jurek Rau.

Sharon Burney, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family February 3, 2023. Services and a Celebration of Life are pending and will be announced at a later date. A full obituary will follow.

Douglas Leroy Shaffer, born April 4, 1950, in Paso Robles, California, danced into the arms of Jesus on January 16, 2023, at the age of 72, after a long battle against cancer. He passed away at his home in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by family.
Steven Ray Gorton died suddenly on February 4, 2023. He was born to Ray and Alene Marie Gorton on February 21, 1961 in San Jose, California, where his father worked for Qantas Airlines. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Mennonite Church in Bonners Ferry at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10. Out of town family and friends can call (208) 427-2040 to listen to the service.

Starla Ann Jasper died January 26, 2023, at the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry with her family by her side. Starla was born on November 22, 1956, in Spokane, the daughter of Leslie and Alice Clark Stiles.

Channing “Chan” Eugene Nagel passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry. No services are scheduled at this time. Chan was born April 11, 1943, in Bonners Ferry to Shirleigh Ione (Peterson) Nagel and Eugene Channing Nagel. Chan grew up in Boundary County, spending time with his grandparents and countless hours fishing the Kootenai River with his uncles, Pete and Jerry Peterson.

Vondee Drumm, 82, a resident of Bonners Ferry, sadly passed away on December 23, 2022. She was born in Sacramento, California, on November 13, 1940. Vondee’s funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, with a celebration of her life to follow.

Richard Bruce Baker, 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home with family on January 7, 2023. Born June 14, 1929, at home to Robert and Emma Baker near Homestead, Montana. He completed school through the eighth grade until work on the family farm became a priority.

Blanche Antoinette (Larson) Studer passed away January 15, 2023, in Bonners Ferry. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 28, at the United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry, with a reception following.

John A. Brussman passed away peacefully at his home in Reno, Nevada, on October 30, 2022, with loving friends by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle who raised him, his sister and his two beautiful wives, Jaclyn nee Drui and Martha nee Anton.

Donna Plum suddenly passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 95. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 6712 El Paso Street, Bonners Ferry.

Michael Daniel died January 7, 2023, at his home in Bonners Ferry, his family by his side. Daniel was born on March 2, 1979, in San Diego, the son of Michael and Sharon Golden Daniel. No services are planned at this time.
Alton Sharrow died January 8, 2023, at Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry with his family by his side. Alton was born on May 28, 1948, in Springfield, Vermont, the son of Keith and Barbara Nacel Sharrow. No services are planned at this time.
Dick Baker died January 7, 2023, at his home in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by family. Dick was born on June 14, 1929, in Homestead, Montana, the son of Robert and Emma Schad Baker. There will be no services at this time.

Timothy Lynn Harlan, 65, passed away peacefully at 4 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, surrounded by his family. A celebration of Tim's life will be held at the Bonners Ferry Seventh Day Adventist Church at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, January 14.

Daniel Joseph Meddock, 78, kind and loving husband, family man and loyal friend passed away peacefully September 12, 2022, in Salem, Oregon, from multiple myeloma cancer. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, in Bonners Ferry at the Becker Auditorium.

Charles Joseph Dangel died following illness December 23, 2022, in Bonners Ferry. Charles, the husband of Cheryl Dangel, was born on September 19, 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Karl and Anna Munden Dangel. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Cheryl Dangel, 77, died December 27, 2022, in Bonners Ferry following an illness. The wife of Charles Dangel, she was born November 4, 1945, in Lethbridge, Alberta, the daughter of Iven and Hazel Deglow Rasmussen. To leave a message or memory for the family go to www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com.

Jean Landis, 104, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, at Lantern Crest Assisted Living in Santee, California. A private family service will be held early in 2023.

Tim Quesnel died suddenly at the age of 60  on December 9, 2022. He leaves behind his wife Sheryl, his daughter Abigail, his son Ian, his son-in-law Spencer, two brothers Todd and Terry, and his step-mom Phyllis. We will all unite to enjoy a Celebration of Tim’s life at Becker Auditorium at 1 p.m. Saturday January 7. Please join us.

Gladstone Caraway, 84, passed away at his home in Bonners Ferry on December 7, 2022. Gladstone was born on December 11, 1937, in Kellogg, the son of Jake and Cleo Walker Caraway. Private services will be held at a later date.
