Donald Farrell, 89, Bonners Ferry, passed away on October 13, 2021, at home with his family by his side. No services are planned.
October 13
Cecil Lyle Holmes was born to James Otto Holmes and Eva Mae Walt Holmes on September 30, 1925, in Gove County, Kansas, the third of four children. He died October 3, 2021, in Spokane. Cecil will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery. The family plans a private service at a later date.
October 11
Clee Hollice Cossairt passed away Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at home in Bonners Ferry. There will be no service. He was born in Naples November 19, 1933, to Cecil and Carol (Aldridge) Cossairt. He attended several schools including Highland Flats, Movaria, Spokane, Naples and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School, Class of 1951.
Dwain McGinnis, 76, died October 1, 2021, at Boundary Community Hospital, Bonners Ferry, from complications of lung cancer. His wife and best friend, Kathy, was at his side. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16, at United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.

Phyllis Ann Wester, 91, born in Bonners Ferry in 1921, died September 20, 2021. At her request, Phyllis will be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled sometime in the spring of 2022 when larger indoor gatherings become safer.

Jennifer Joyce Woodward was born July 6, 1972. She died peacefully with God at home in Wichita, Kansas, September 30, 2021. Born in Tennessee to David and Joyce Woodward, the family moved to Bonners Ferry in 1981, where she graduated from the high school in 1990.

Fred “Papa” Anton Ellis’ generosity is legendary. He gave to his family, he gave to his community, and he gave to God. Fred passed away from Covid-19 on September 23, 2021, in Kootenai Health, Coeur d’Alene. He was 63 years old. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 23, at 27769 West Highway 53, Hauser, Idaho.
Richard Earl McGary was born in Naples, Texas, July 15, 1941, one of two sons born to Alfred Allen McGary and Gladys Fowler. He died September 24, 2021, in Ronan, Montana. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 3, at Foster's Funeral Home, 216 Project Drive, St. Ignatius, Montana.

Lana DeBoer Brady, 60, said goodbye as she left us early Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021. There will be a service at a date to be announced. Lana will be interred near her parents, infant brother Dennis and niece Sadie in Paradise Valley Cemetery.

Janet Lawson, 68, Bonners Ferry, passed away on September 27, 2021 in Sandpoint. Janet was born on July 23, 1953, in Phoenix, Arizona. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Joan "Joanie" Lucille Petersen, 75, Bonners Ferry, left to be with the Lord on September 26, 2021. A Celebration of the Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 9, at the Great Northwest Territories Event Center, 998 Mountain Meadows Road, Naples.

Cheryl S. Grantham, 74, Billings, Montana, passed away September 18, 2021, at home. She was loved by many. Cremation has taken place and a celebration is being planned. Cheryl was born in Bonners Ferry December 1, 1946, to Lloyd Richard Starks and Alvira Phipps Starks.

Farice Sarah Basler passed to be with the Lord September 18, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene. She was 94 years old. A graveside service for Farice will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 25, Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry.
Christina Lynn Snyder was born December 25, 1948, to parents Mary and BG Rock in Casper, Wyoming. She died September 8, 2021. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, October 3, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street, with a meal following at Paradise Valley Grange.
Richard Howard Merrill, 80, Bonners Ferry, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2021. Richard was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and lover of his Heavenly Father.

John William Sater was born to Carl Alexander Sater and Helen Beatrix (Wentz) Sater on June 25, 1932, in North Bend, Washington, at the family home, where he joined his older brother, Dan. He died on September 10, 2021, at the age of 89. We hope you will all come out and celebrate with us on April 16, 2022, at the Auction Barn to celebrate the man, the myth, the legend. There will be a memorial service and an auction for John’s estate.

Larry Ray Merrifield, 71, born in Bonners Ferry and a graduate of Bonners Ferry High School, passed away at Generations Assisted Living in Rathdrum on September 14, 2021. At this time, no formal public service is planned. Larry's ashes will be placed in part at Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, and the remaining ashes will be spread across the mountains of North Idaho in a private gathering.

Valdie and Rockey Burkholder: With North Idaho’s low vaccine rates, low incidence of mask compliance, and high levels of COVID, the family of Valdie and Rockey Burkholder have, with great sadness, elected to postpone the memorial service for the mother and son who epitomized for decades the ideal of conduct becoming citizens of "Idaho's Friendliest City."

Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street, Bonners Ferry. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 16, at Mt. View Mennonite Church, 510752 US-95, Bonners Ferry, with burial to follow at the Mt. View Mennonite Cemetery.

Hazel Bolding Eby, 93, passed away peacefully at home September 4, 2021, surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 18, at Mountain Springs Church, 6789 Main Street, Bonners Ferry. She will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery.

John Wayne Miller Sr., 82, Naples, passed away at home on September 2, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends. The family invites neighbors and friends to join them at the home at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 18, to remember and celebrate John’s life.

Mary Dawn Dockstader Johnson, 75, passed away on September 3, 2021, at her home in Bonners Ferry due to complications of COVID and other health issues. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, the Mt. Hall Mormon Cemetery.
Donna Jane Tompkins went home to be with the Lord September 2, 2021. She passed away surrounded by family at the age of 92. The family plans to have a private service with a celebration of life at a later date.

Rodney Ingrum, 67, Bonners Ferry, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends on August 31, 2021, after a four year battle with lung cancer. He now is resting in the loving arms of Jesus. Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday September 11, at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 64835 Harrison Street.
Gerald Wayne 'Jerry' Tucker: Gerald Wayne Tucker, known affectionately to all his family and friends as Jerry, was born in Bonners Ferry to Clifford O. Tucker and Marie Penson Tucker on May 14, 1940. He was their fourth child. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, at the Cocolalla Cowboy Church, 4281 Cocolalla Loop.

Peggy Mendenhall passed away August 26, 2021. A Celebration of Life and potluck will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 18, at Rotary Park (Snow Creek Pond). Friends are invited to stop in and are welcomed to camp.
Gayle Sharon Alexander passed peacefully at home on Saturday, August 21, 2021, under the loving care of her sister Cathy. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11, at the Bonners Ferry Baptist Church, 6892 Cody Street.
Mary Dalebout Brown Denton, 104, Bonners Ferry, passed away on August 26, 2021, at Boundary County Extended Care. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 4, at Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home, 43 Wisconsin Street, Priest River, with funeral service at 11 a.m., Pastor Jim Greenslitt officiating. A grave-side service will commence at the Evergreen Cemetery after the service.
