Starla Ann Jasper died January 26, 2023, at the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry with her family by her side. Starla was born on November 22, 1956, in Spokane, the daughter of Leslie and Alice Clark Stiles.

Channing “Chan” Eugene Nagel passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry. No services are scheduled at this time. Chan was born April 11, 1943, in Bonners Ferry to Shirleigh Ione (Peterson) Nagel and Eugene Channing Nagel. Chan grew up in Boundary County, spending time with his grandparents and countless hours fishing the Kootenai River with his uncles, Pete and Jerry Peterson.

Vondee Drumm, 82, a resident of Bonners Ferry, sadly passed away on December 23, 2022. She was born in Sacramento, California, on November 13, 1940. Vondee’s funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, with a celebration of her life to follow.

Richard Bruce Baker, 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home with family on January 7, 2023. Born June 14, 1929, at home to Robert and Emma Baker near Homestead, Montana. He completed school through the eighth grade until work on the family farm became a priority.

Blanche Antoinette (Larson) Studer passed away January 15, 2023, in Bonners Ferry. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 28, at the United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry, with a reception following.

John A. Brussman passed away peacefully at his home in Reno, Nevada, on October 30, 2022, with loving friends by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle who raised him, his sister and his two beautiful wives, Jaclyn nee Drui and Martha nee Anton.

Donna Plum suddenly passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 95. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 6712 El Paso Street, Bonners Ferry.

Michael Daniel died January 7, 2023, at his home in Bonners Ferry, his family by his side. Daniel was born on March 2, 1979, in San Diego, the son of Michael and Sharon Golden Daniel. No services are planned at this time.
Alton Sharrow died January 8, 2023, at Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry with his family by his side. Alton was born on May 28, 1948, in Springfield, Vermont, the son of Keith and Barbara Nacel Sharrow. No services are planned at this time.
Dick Baker died January 7, 2023, at his home in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by family. Dick was born on June 14, 1929, in Homestead, Montana, the son of Robert and Emma Schad Baker. There will be no services at this time.

Timothy Lynn Harlan, 65, passed away peacefully at 4 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, surrounded by his family. A celebration of Tim's life will be held at the Bonners Ferry Seventh Day Adventist Church at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, January 14.

Daniel Joseph Meddock, 78, kind and loving husband, family man and loyal friend passed away peacefully September 12, 2022, in Salem, Oregon, from multiple myeloma cancer. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, in Bonners Ferry at the Becker Auditorium.

Charles Joseph Dangel died following illness December 23, 2022, in Bonners Ferry. Charles, the husband of Cheryl Dangel, was born on September 19, 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Karl and Anna Munden Dangel. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Jean Landis, 104, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, at Lantern Crest Assisted Living in Santee, California. A private family service will be held early in 2023.

Tim Quesnel died suddenly at the age of 60  on December 9, 2022. He leaves behind his wife Sheryl, his daughter Abigail, his son Ian, his son-in-law Spencer, two brothers Todd and Terry, and his step-mom Phyllis. We will all unite to enjoy a Celebration of Tim’s life at Becker Auditorium at 1 p.m. Saturday January 7. Please join us.

Gladstone Caraway, 84, passed away at his home in Bonners Ferry on December 7, 2022. Gladstone was born on December 11, 1937, in Kellogg, the son of Jake and Cleo Walker Caraway. Private services will be held at a later date.

Jeremy Michael 'J.M.' Gross was born on September 15, 1988, at Bonners General Hospital. He passed away on November 19, 2022 at his home in Moyie Springs. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, at Bridgeway Assembly of God, 66027 Highway 2, Bonners Ferry, with a luncheon to follow.

Sock Yoshida, 96, recently of Moyie Springs, died peacefully Thursday evening, November 24, 2022, at the Boundary County Restorium. The family is following Sock’s wishes to be buried with his wife and will be holding his cremated remains to take back to California in the spring for a service there.

Dale Samuel Cruttenden, 73, Bonners Ferry, died on November 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Dale was born on January 24, 1949 in Hastings, Michigan the son of Albert and Avis Benedict Cruttenden.

Denise Yvonne Overton, 52, Spokane, passed away after a medical emergency while serving time on a drug conviction in the Boundary County Jail on October 28, 2022. A memorial service is being planned for the spring of 2023.
November 15
Robert Hugh Stoddard, 72, passed away at his Bonners Ferry home November 12, 2022. Robert was born on April 27, 1950, in Pocatello, the son of Jack and Marie Stevens Stoddard. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 19, at the LDS Church, 6568 Alderson Lane, Bonners Ferry, and at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, at the LDS Church, 1835 Highland Drive Prosser, Washington.

Robert "Bob" Lamar Bridges, Bonners Ferry, passed away on November 9, 2022, with his loving wife of 42 years, Amy (Liebhauser) Bridges, by his side. His final care was provided by the amazing staff of Auburn Crest Hospice Care and their two compassionate home health care workers. Bob was born July 24, 1936, in Nashville, Georgia, to Grace and Russell Bridges.

Delores Riekena passed away at the Bonners Ferry Hospital on October 26, 2022, with her husband, Rick, by her side. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 12, at United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry. Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Wilma Irene Watkins, 89, passed away on October 13, 2022, surrounded by her family at Sunset Home. She was a loving mom, grandma and great grandma. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 4, 2023, which would have been her 90th birthday. Place and time to be determined.
Gaylord Eugene Dirks, 82, was called home for the final time on the afternoon of September 29, 2022. Gaylord was born to John and Edna Dirks March 31, 1940, in Bonners Ferry. A lifelong resident of Bonners Ferry, dad was always proud of his heritage and the community he lived, worked and was part of. A man of so many skills and talents, he worked hard in various construction trades as a heavy equipment operator, logging endeavors, and so many others. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard.

Rita Ann Meindl, 78, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2022, with her husband by her side. Rita was born on April 15, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of W.C. and Opal Mathews. Services are planned for a later date.

Alfred "Fred" Carelli, 77, passed away on October 12, 2022, at his home in Moyie Springs. Fred was born on December 1, 1944, in San Francisco, the son of Joseph and Louisa Carelli. No services are planned at this time.

Ralph Lee “Buffy” Richardson, 72. He was born on February 7, 1950, in Havre, Montana, and passed August 9, 2022, in Orofino, Idaho, after a courageous, hard-fought, five-year battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 15 at the Boundary County Fairgrounds..

J. Joe Nelson was born in Canton, Oklahoma, on December 21, 1931, to Robert Lee and Fannie Mae Williams Nelson, the fourth of six children. When he was four, the family moved to Bowman, Idaho. At the age of 12, the family moved to Curley Creek outside of Bonners Ferry. He passed away on September 29, 2022,, at his home in Libby. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Cassandra Marie Spencer, born December 6, 1984, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2022, at the age of 37. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 1, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street, Bonners Ferry.

John Phillip Lefebvre took his last trip down Westside Road on September 18, 2022, passing away from a suspected Aortic Aneurysm during ambulance transit to Boundary Community Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at the Mirror Lake Golf Course clubhouse. Prior to the service, golfers are invited to join a nine-hole memorial tournament with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
Marie Louise (Pederson) Maggi passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Lewiston. She spent her childhood in Montana, moving to Bonners Ferry and graduating from high school in 1954. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Dan Meddock, a 1963 graduate of Bonners Ferry High School, died of multiple myeloma cancer on Monday, September 12. Plans are underway for a celebration of his life in Bonners Ferry. His obituary is pending.

Mary Ann Tritt, 67, Bonners Ferry passed away September 13, 2022. surrounded by family. Mary Ann was born April 17, 1955, to John and Mary VanEtten. Please join us to celebrate Mary Ann’s life at Living Waters Church, 6957 Labrosse Hill Road, Bonners Ferry at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24. Randy Lee Mendenhall, 68, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his home in Bonners Ferry with his wife Jeanna by his side. A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, October 1, at the Paradise Valley Grange Hall, 3661 Kootenai Trail Road, Bonners Ferry.
Bradley David Buerge was born on December 12, 1953, in Wadsworth, Ohio. He and his twin brother, Jody Lee, were born to Donald and Eunice Vining Buerge. He tragically passed away on September 12, 2022, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho at the age of 68 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at Mountain View Mennonite Church, 510752 US-95, Bonners Ferry, with graveside services to follow at Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery.

Merle Edwin Dinning passed away September 12, 2022, at Boundary Community Hospital surrounded by his wife, Carole and his children Leslie and Andrew. A funeral service will be held at 3 p .m. Saturday, September 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street, Bonners Ferry. Come help us celebrate Merle’s life.

Marjorie Ann Guynn, 77, a deeply loved and cherished daughter of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was also a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Marjorie, was a very generous and caring woman always willing to help others in need. She died on September 6, 2022, at her home in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by her family.

Marlene Ann Wickstrom Fallquist, 76, passed away peacefully in Seattle on August 30, 2022. Marlene was born in Bonners Ferry on September 10, 1945. Memorial Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street, Bonners Ferry.

Wendy White, 57, died peacefully at home on September 6, 2022, in Bonners Ferry, surrounded by her family. Wendy was born in Bonners Ferry August 31, 1965, the daughter of Ray and Carolyn Hanson Dinning, Bonners Ferry. Graveside Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.
Gordon "Gordy" Allured, 68, died peacefully Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home in Woodburn, Oregon, after a courageous 36-year battle with Parkinson’s disease and over six years with Lewy Body Dementia. A gathering of family and friends will be be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 24, at Mugsy's, Tavern & Grill, 7161 Main Street, Bonners Ferry. All friends and family are invited to stop in and share their memories.

Marilyn Annette Bauman was born March 8, 1936, in Naples, and passed away on August 13, 2022, of Alzheimer's disease. She was the first born of Evelyn (Krogseth) and Carl Cossairt. A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 South Montana Avenue, Caldwell, Idaho, with a luncheon to follow.

Jacob Allan Lee Hanson’s life was taken from his family, friends and loved ones in a tragedy on August 19, 2022, in Burlington Washington. A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at the Skagit Golf and Country Club, 16701 Country Club Drive, Burlington, Washington, with a reception following.

Alva Vernon Baker, 89, passed away on July 13, 2022. He was at home with his wife of 60 years, Peach, at his side. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street, Bonners Ferry. There will be a potluck to follow.
