September 22, 2021
The family invites friends to join us to celebrate Farice’s life.
Farice, was born in Leedey, Oklahoma, July 18, 1927. She went to elementary school in a one room school house outside Leedey and then graduated from Leedey High School. After college Farice taught in a small school outside Leedey.
In 1947, Farice married Isidor Aubie Basler, also from Leedey. Isidor, who everyone called Gub, gave Farice the nickname Frosty.
Most of you may know them as Gub and Frosty.
Frosty and Gub moved to Lancaster, California, in 1956, where Gub was a carpenter and Frosty an instructor at a beauty school. The also spent a lot of time “flipping” old houses.
Around 1981, Gub and Frosty followed their two children to Bonners Ferry. Their retirement years were spent enjoying family and friends. They were also very active in their church, the Bonners Ferry Church of Christ.
Gub passed to be with the Lord in 2005. Frosty remained in Bonners Ferry until 2015, when she moved to Coeur d'Alene, where she lived until her passing.
Farice is survived by children Tommy Basler and his wife Rita, Bonners Ferry, and Peggy Severson, Coeur d’Alene, grandchildren Jeremy and wife Zhenya Gwin, Aaron and wife Christine, Jake Gwin and Auby Basler; and great-grandchildren Alex Gwin Holmes, Grace Gwin, and Nik and Zoja Gwin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Idaho, in honor of Farice Basler.
