Raymond Frederick Knicely, 82, of Bonners Ferry, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, August 13, 2022. A visitation service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Kootenai Valley Mennonite Church, 782 Moon Shadow Road. The funeral service will be held there at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Raymond was born on October 10, 1939, in Rockingham County, Virginia, to the late Dewitt Pierce and Alda Craun (Shank) Knicely. He was a lifelong farmer, operating a dairy and poultry farm in Weyers Cave, Virginia, and later a beef cow operation in Rustburg, Virginia. On December 18, 1971, he married Barbara Byler from Seymour, Missouri, who survives him. They celebrated their 50th anniversary last December. Also surviving are their children, Fred Knicely and wife Regina, Linville, Virginia, Dorcas Yoder and husband Norman, Moyie Springs, Kristina Yoder and husband Ivan, Council, Idaho, Eric Knicely and wife Cheryl, Bonners Ferry, and Ray Knicely, Bonners Ferry, 26 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, siblings Charles Knicely and wife Susie, Anna Lee Knicely, Frank Knicely and wife Alice, and Daniel Knicely and wife Becky, sister-in-law Martha Knicely and a brother-in-law Byard Showalter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers James and Lowell, sister Margaret Showalter and sister-in-law Mildred Knicely, wife of Lowell. Raymond was a member of the Kootenai Valley Mennonite Church in Bonners Ferry. |
