February 22, 2023
Alice was born August 24, 1930, in Lewistown, Montana, to George E. and Odessa (Atwood) Fox. She was joined by brother George A. Fox in 1933. She grew up in Winnett, Montana, and graduated high school in 1948. She attended college in Great Falls and became a teacher. Alice taught at Cat Creek in a one room schoolhouse in Mosby, Montana. She married Maurice Sandaker in 1951. They owned a trucking business, taking them all over the state with Billings and later Glendive as home. They had four children; Marcia, Aaron, Valerie and Grant. They settled in Bonners Ferry in 1968, buying BF Redi-Mix with his sister and brother-in-law. Alice ran the office for that and later for Sandaker Excavating and Sandaker Car Wash. Later in life she returned to teaching at BF schools. At home she loved gardening, baking, sewing and spending time with friends and family. She was the recording secretary and active member of Friends of the Restorium until her passing. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice, brother George, daughter Valerie, great grandson Albert Maurice DaSilva and son-in-law Tim Foust. She is survived by children Marci, Aaron (Sheila) and Grant, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She will be laid to rest next to Maurice at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. In lieu of flowers she would appreciate donations to be made to the Friends of the Restorium. |
