October 14, 2023
As a child, Dorothy’s family moved from North Dakota to Oregon and then to Bonners Ferry, where Dorothy attended grade school and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. Dorothy married Edward Funkhouser and together, they had six children. They later divorced, but remained friends. Dorothy worked for the City of Bonners Ferry for many years. In 1981, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she met T. Ray Mincher. They married in 1985; moved to Talkeetna, Alaska, and started a construction company, Mincher Enterprises. Upon retirement, Dorothy and T. Ray sold Mincher Enterprises and moved to Bandon, Oregon, where they lived for many years. In 2020, they moved to Moyie Springs to be closer to family. In Dorothy's younger years, she enjoyed hunting, but became passionate about fishing while living in Alaska. This love of fishing continued as would be witnessed by fishing on her 90th birthday. Dorothy is survived by her husband T. Ray, children, Linda Rustigan (Wayne Curley), Larry (Donna) Funkhouser, Debbie (David) Miller, T. Ray’s living children Tammi, Dana and Michael, sister Lenora Rudman and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her sons Michael Funkhouser, Daniel Funkhouser and David Funkhouser; T. Ray’s son Donnie, her parents Harold and Corella Levig, brother Leslie Levig. and sister Lois Wells. The Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is caring for the family. www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com. |
