Two Yaak fundraisers move events to Labor Day weekend

August 7, 2021
Two of Yaak’s community groups are pooling their resources and holding their traditional fundraising events over Labor Day weekend this year. The Yaak School is undergoing foundation work this summer and so was unable to hold its usual July arts and crafts fair on school grounds, and Upper Yaak Fire, which has long held its annual Rummage Sale over Memorial Day weekend, this year switches to Labor Day weekend.

Come spend time in the Yaak from from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, September 3, or Saturday, September 4. Check out the treasures at the Upper Yaak Fire Rummage Sale, 28600 Yaak River Road. Rumor has it that there are great items! Remember that one person’s junk maybe a treasure to you!

Proceeds help purchase safety items needed for the firefighters.

The Yaak School will be holding an online and silent auction at the Yaak Rod and Gun Club. Local artisans and community members will be donating local photography, pottery, jewelry, lotions, handmade rugs, crafts, honey, note cards, quilted, yarn and knitting items and woodworking.

A bake sale, sponsored by the Yaak Women’s Club, will be set up on Saturday. Please visit the school’s website for details on bidding on-line. Proceeds from this event will be used for school trips, special activities and outside speakers. Both events are located on Shooting Range Road, which is a left-hand turn from the Yaak River Road (Highway 508) at Mile 29.5.
