Every year, in observance of agriculture, spring and new beginnings, Boundary County Farm Bureau seeks the first baby of spring, and this year is extraordinarily special. Promotion and Education Chair Cassie Olson put out an announcement searching for the first baby of spring and received a handful of names of mothers expecting around March 20, the first day of spring. All but two of the mothers had their babies before March 20.

With two babies still waiting to be born, Cassie was waiting to see which one came first when news broke ... and then broke again! In all the years of searching for the first baby of spring, never before has this happened ... both babies were born on the same day, April 2, and a smidge over three hours apart.

Because this had not happened before, both babies and their families received a beautiful basket full of goodies to celebrate their arrivals!

Juniper Lee Murphy was born to Mikayla and Kyle Murphy at 4:07 p.m. Juniper joins sisters Nevaeh and Octavia and brother Banner. She weighed six pounds, 15 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Her grandparents are Pat and Renee Murphy, Casey and Marie West and Mike Byars.

At 7:12 p.m., Bo Terrance Cordle was born to Kailee and Brenten Cordle weighing five pounds, 14 ounces, and 19 inches long, joining joined brothers Blake and Brooks. Grandparents include Annie and Terry Swift, Bryce and Kristina Cordle, and great grandparents Marie Cordle, Jim and Patty Bottoms and Ronny and Ann Swift.
