September 11, 2021
Sierra Petesch led the team with 13 kills, Emma Lucas had 5 aces and Nevaeh Elliston had 11 serve attempts and zero errors for a second week of 100-percent serving accuracy.
The Badgers edged the Lady Loggers 25-23 in set 1, then fell 15-25 in set two, only to fire back and reverse the score in set three, winning 25-15. Libby took set four 23-25, but the Badgers eked out an 18-16 final set to earn the win.
Both the JV and C-teams also brought home wins.
"Conditioning paid off," coach Cynthia Cummings said. "The team went a long fiver sets with long back and forth rallies, but they pushed themselves and had positive attitudes the entire match."
Libby traveled to Bonners Ferry on Thursday, September 9, and again the mighty Badgers prevailed, and again by a three-two margin, with Elliston, a junior, maintaining her perfect serving streak with 100-percent accuracy on 13 serve attempts.
The Lady Badgers won the first two sets 25-18 and 25-22, before faltering in the third and fourth, 26-24 and 25-22. They won the final set, 15-11, to keep their record a perfect 3-0 as they head into conference play for their next three games.
The Badgers travel to Priest River at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, host Timberlake at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 16, and travel to Kellogg at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 21.
