Over-snow vehicles banned in Libby ski area

December 17, 2021

Over-snow vehicle use in the boundaries of the South Flower Cross Country Ski Area near Libby has been prohibited due to concentrated pedestrian traffic, prohibiting any over-snow vehicle use on any National Forest system within the ski area boundaries including roads and trails.

South Flower Creek has about eight kilometers of trails located four miles southwest of Libby. The trailhead parking lot has a capacity for 30 cars and the trails are groomed intermittently through the winter season, depending on the conditions and need.

To get there from Libby, travel south on US Highway 2 and turn on the Golf Course Hill road. Turn left at the three-way intersection and travel half a mile. Turn right at the Granite Creek Road 618 and follow for one mile to the turnoff at Flower Creek Road 128.
