Kobertstien Idaho State champion on bars

April 6, 2022

Some of you may remember Aliyah Koberstien as the cute little gymnast who flipped cartwheels in the cartwheel-a-thon at Super 1 last year to raise money for local cancer patients and her to build her gymnastics fund for this competition year. She amazed everyone, turning 270 cartwheels in an hour. As this year's competition season has ended and she returns to her practice schedule, look for her next cartwheel-a-thon coming later this spring!

She moved up to the silver team this year, and at seven years old, she was the youngest girl on her team. She started her competition season sidelined due to a fractured growth plate in her ankle, but still showed up at the first competition in Kennewick January 28 with a sign to cheer on her teammates!

She was unable to tumble for six weeks but came back strong, jumping back into the game in the season's four remaining meets in Coeur d'Alene, Spokane, Rathdrum and Moscow, finishing as Idaho State champion on bars for her age category and in sixth place overall.

Even after a challenging year, she gave it her all!
