Despite the threat of rain, a number of young Boundary County residents turned out today to take part in the motorcycle and ATV course taught by sheriff Dave Kramer, undersheriff Rich Stephens, corporal Clint Randall and Deputy Dave Wion, earning their Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation cards so they can legally ride on forest service trails open to motorbikes and ATVs without a driver’s license. Their day included negotiating a cone course to test their riding ability, pointers on riding over and around obstacles, turning around on a slope, the rules and laws of the trail and more, and each not only had fun and received their riding cards in time to have fun this summer, they gained the confidence needed to make them more safe when riding in the great outdoors! |
