Skatepark Alliance having logo contest, second jam

July 7, 2022

The Boundary County Skatepark Alliance (BCSA) thanks all who helped to make its inaugural event June 21 at the Bonners Ferry Skatepark a rousing success. Community response was inspiring and just the fuel they needed to start this project. The alliance now has a couple other plans they are excited to share.

First is the BCSA Logo Concept Contest, open to everyone and anyone who wants to help create a logo that represents the goals and values of BCSA and our community.

They aren't looking for the finished logo, but for a local artist to bring them the best concept. Members of the alliance will then work with the artist to develop a finished logo that all can be proud of, and in the process maybe help the artist grow in their craft.

Contest rules are below, and the deadline for entries is Friday, July 15. Entries can be dropped off at the Parks and Rec office or by emailed to Pam1160@hotmail.com

There is no entry form, just submit your image and contact information. You don’t need to be present to win.

Teachers, students, parents, everyone; if you know of any hidden talent out there, please spread the word, but time is short!

Which brings us to that next event, the Bonners Ferry Skate and Music Showcase with a Skate Jam sponsored, again, by our friends at Yousta, and live music brought to you by local band King Friday. The event takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the fairgrounds skate park.

This will be another free, family friendly, event like our first Skate Jam with food, prizes and the logo art on display. During the event, attendeees can vote for the best logo design. The winner will be announced at the end of the jam.

Please come out and support your local Skatepark, we are looking for fun and enthusiasm, and of course donations are always welcome!
