Fires chiefs hosting a second round of Smoking Balls

The Boundary County Fire Chiefs Association is hosting their Second Annual Smoking Balls Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 17, at Mirror Lake Golf Course in Bonners Ferry. All proceeds from the fundraising event will go to the Boundary County Fire Prevention Cooperative, which helps prevent unwanted human-caused fires through public outreach and education.

Players can pre-register for the tournament online and receive discounts for early registration and for purchasing two or more tickets.

Teams of two players each will compete for first, second and third place team awards, as well as for cash prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, most accurate drive, longest putt and hole-in-one.

Door and raffle prizes will be also given away at the tournament.

Check-in on the day of the event starts at 7 a.m. and teams will be assigned at 8 a.m. A rules briefing starts at a.m. followed by a shotgun start. Burgers will be served around 1:30 p.m. with prizes awarded and honors bestowed at 2 p.m.
