Out of over 100 applicants, former Troy mayor and business owner Darren Coldwell is one of four finalists to become city manager of Sedona, Arizona, a city of around 9,700 30 miles south of Flagstaff. He currently manages Page, Arizona, a city of around 7,200 in Coconino County in the north central part of the state. Coldwell, who earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Montana, owned the Booze N Bait in Troy from 1992 to 2017 and the Troy Mini Mall from 2011 to 2017, when he also served as executive director of the Troy Chamber of Commerce.
He was elected mayor of Troy from 2013 to 2017 before being hired as Lincoln County Administrator for about two years.
He and finalists Carly Castle, Anette Spickard and Greg Caton were interviewed by the Sedona City Council, wrapping up on Monday. The selected candidate will take over for Karen Osburn, who is retiring next year.
