The Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:07 p.m. Wednesday on US Highway 95 at West Elmira Road in North Bonner County.
The driver of a white Mercury Grand Marquis crossed the double center line and struck a maroon Chevrolet Malibu head-on. Both drivers, in their early 50s, were transported via ground ambulance to the hospital, where they were treated for injuries resulting from the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet was then taken to a separate facility for further treatment.
Evidence found on scene indicates that drugs and/or alcohol may have been involved in this crash.
Traffic in both directions on US 95 was stopped for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.
This incident remains under investigation.
