Conservatives have been bombarded for the past 10 years with a non-stop barrage of institutional changes and demands for “rights” that break with traditions and assault common sense. The list of radical left donkey causes is long and includes;
- Climate change hoax, (Green Scam)
- Men competing in women’s sports
- DEI mandates at the expense of talent and competence
- Drag queens grooming children with “storybook hours” (Wokism)
- Open borders
- Carjackings
- Anti-semitic demonstrations
- Homeless encampments
- Legalized use of hard drugs
- Paying off Student loan debts with taxpayer dollars, as a bribe for their votes
- Vaccine & mask mandates that don’t stop the spread of COVID
- Lockdowns that incubate COVID and cause social skills to deteriorate
You can add your own insults to the logic on the above list. If this trend runs much further, our Republic will collapse into chaos because of the left’s stupidity.
Good news: A counter-revolution is emerging,
- New York police recently cleared an anti-Semitic encampment on the Columbia University campus, secured an occupied building, and arrested hundreds of demonstrators. Similar clearing operations have been conducted at other campuses.
- Google fired approximately 50 employees who staged an anti-Semitic “strike” on company property.
- Numerous governors have declared that men cannot compete in women’s sports despite Biden’s efforts to ram that policy through, and down citizens throats using a twisted interpretation of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
- A group of 13 federal judges have signed a letter to Columbia University President Minouche Shafik saying they will no longer hire Columbia University graduates as law clerks because the school has become an “incubator of bigotry.” The letter invites other judges and law firms to do likewise.
These may be small steps individually, but they add up. Importantly, they show that reasonable people have had enough and the free ride for bizarre Democratic left-wing policies is over.

Bonners Ferry
Thank you, Lee for writing this excellent letter – well written; and mirrors my own views on the current cultural, moral and political state of our country. Certainly, thanks also to Mike for publishing it. Good for you for doing so!
If anyone here takes visceral issue with the content of Lee’s letter, I would strongly suggest looking as objectively as possible at California’s current climate and quality of life. I lived there for 32 years before moving here in 2018, only a few months before then-Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom got elected Governor. At the same time, Democrats gained supermajorities in the state Senate and state Assembly, and have maintained them since, relegating the state Republican party to third-party status. Trust me when I say you do not want to live in present-day California, no matter what your politics are. The place is ground zero for Democrat corruption and the consequences Lee highlighted in his letter. Think I’m wrong? Try living in California for 12 months, visiting Oakland, San Francisco and Los Angeles when you do. Visit a few small Central Valley towns in Fresno, Kings and Kern Counties and note the poverty. The middle class in California is nearly gone.
If California’s economic problems are bad, its spiritual problems are worse. And they won’t get solved by employing only political remedies, absent returning to God as per 2 Chronicles 7:14. Do not let the California of today become the Idaho of tomorrow.
Thank you both for your input. I spent the first 30 years of my life in Iowa. I moved to California in 1980. Lived there for 13 years. Left there in 1993. Only good thing I got from California was my wife, 42 years and going strong. Moving to BF was such a great move. California is now a cesspool. Boundary County is going through its own changes. I’ll keep my opinion about this good ol’ boy situation to myself, but I feel it’s still a beautiful place to live. I believe that a large percent of the people that are moving are like minded and only want the best for Bonners Ferry as my wife and I do. I always try and remember that God is watching.
