In case you haven’t heard, the Second Annual Chalk the Block is in the works to add a little color to Kootenai River Days. This year will be more fun with more prizes, better prizes and even more awesome art!
Last year Teascarlet (Hannah Sucsy) created and hosted the event on her own dime, with a little bit of chalk donated. Her goal was twofold: to drive traffic to her then-new gallery, and to invite artists of all ages to create and add their beauty to the world.
This year her goal is to invite the creativity to grow, and to continue the mission she started to change how art is viewed and valued in rural North Idaho.
Chalk the Block is a community-wide event and everyone’s invited to come to the Teascarlet Fine Arts Gallery, 6389 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, July 16-20, and grab some chalk, then find a blank piece of sidewalk somewhere to make some art!
If this is something you support, you can drop chalk by the gallery or donate by clicking here. She hopes to be able to offer local gift certificates as well as art supplies as part of the prizes in each age category.
She’s already received donations from a couple local businesses, and is already so excited with how this will help to bring this week of beautiful cheer to our community!
