Group reaching out to small town America to support Harris

Rural Americans for Harris, a grass-roots group dedicated to getting out the vote for vice president and presumptive Democrat nominee for president Kamala Harris, is reaching out to small town America with a “Rural Folks for Harris Kickoff Call” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 6. Open to all who live in rural areas and small towns population five to 50,000, the group promises its not going to “sit around and let the MAGA crowd bully our neighbors and continue to let stereotypes that Trump and JD Vance perpetuate go unanswered or unchecked about our strong rural communities.”

“Freedom is a value we hold in our rural towns,” they write. “We like to say what doesn’t bother the cattle doesn’t bother us, meaning mind your own business. We also don’t like big corporations with greedy shareholders who take advantage of our small towns.

“The Trump Republicans have weird obsessions and outdated ideas about our reproductive health, public schools, immigrants, and veterans. We know our towns better than the consultants propping up Vance and Trump and that is why we endorse Kamala and are committed to turning out five percent more rural voters for Democrats up and down the ballot!”
