Benny Allen Hofer, 75, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at Kootenai Medical Center with his family by his side. Benny was born in Magrath, Alberta, on February 17, 1949, the son of Pete and Kay Hofer. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 16, First Baptist Church, 6711 El Paso Street, Bonners Ferry. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
The family moved to Kalispell, Montana in 1951, where they farmed. Benny lived several places such as Albany, Oregon and Tri-cities, Washington, where he met and married Connie before calling Bonners Ferry, his real home in 1988.
During his time in Bonners Ferry, Benny worked for Foust, owned H&H Radiator shop and finished his career as a mechanic for the school district bus shop before retiring. Benny had many hobbies like drag racing, building hot rods, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling and camping. A lifelong mechanic, he was always building and tinkering on anything mechanical.
Benny is preceded in death by his son Shane, father Pete, mother Kay, brother Donny and sister Ruthy. Benny is survived by his wife Connie, son Jeremy and wife Shawndrea, grandsons Jestin, Jeremy and wife Jessica, sisters Dorthy and Carol along with his all of his friends and family.
Benny was a dear friend, loving husband, father and grandfather with a passion for life and positive outlook that was contagious. His favorite spot to be was up Ball Creek catching brookies. Benny also had a bit of a wild side, which his friends know all too well.
