Badger Sports

Piper BanningBack to fall sports we go for the Bonners Ferry High School Badgers volleyball, cross country, soccer and football teams. They have all started their seasons off with a bang. The coaches are getting their teams ready for a great season and Badger fans are ready to get their cheer on! Some of these teams are even shaping to be potential state contenders. Stay turned for stats!

A big change this season is that the Badgers are now classed as 4A, but no change in teams — the Intermountain League is Bonners Ferry, Coeur d’Alene Charter and Timberlake.

The new varsity coach for cross country is Lynsay Hart. She is excited for what’s to come with her young team. The returning varsity volleyball coach is Cynthia Cummings, the varsity head football coach is Danny Swift, the varsity boys soccer coach is Paul Bonnell and girls varsity soccer coach is Emily Winebark.

Brody Rice
Badger quarterback Brody “Mahomes” Rice is fired up and ready for a great season.

We have quite the full weekend ahead of us for Badger sports with an action-packed Saturday in store on the home fields and court, except for the traveling cross country team.

This week the Cross Country team has their first meet at Post Falls High School this Saturday with the time to be determined. The freshman and JV valley ball teams play against Stillwater Christian school at home on Saturday at 10am. The freshman play at 10 a.m., JV at noon and varsity will wrap it up at 2 p.m. Boys varsity soccer will play against Stillwater at noon and girls varsity soccer will wind down the afternoon at 2 p.m.

For football we have JV and C team mix against Lakeside High School at 4 p.m. on our home field to kick off the season and varsity will appear under the homefield lights at 7 p.m.

It’s going to be a great year — Go Badgers!!
