Neal Warren Marcy

Neal Warren MarcyNeal Warren Marcy was born on August 31, 1958, to Wes and Joy Marcy, in Bonners Ferry. He died July 31, 2024. Per his wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest with his parents and siblings in Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.

He joined siblings Kenneth, Shirley, and Mark. His first ten years were spent “on the ranch” that the family owned on Cow Creek.

In 1968 his parents sold the ranch and moved into town to build a home on Canyon Street, Bonners Ferry, which the family would live in until Joy’s death. Neal was not happy! He loved the woods and creek and the freedom of “running around like a banshee” (his words) without his parents knowing what he was doing. Adjusting to town life took some time. He graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1976.

Neal was a truck driver, be it logs, oil in North Dakota and Minnesota, or wood chips here in North Idaho, he loved driving. He drove well over 4 million miles during his career. He did take a break to open and run Marcy’s Radiator Repair with his brother Mark at the Three Mile Junction in Bonners Ferry. When they closed the shop he returned to driving.

Neal married Karen Oxford in 1990, after seven years together. They had a daughter, Melissa in 1993. They later divorced. After his father’s death, Neal spent every Saturday at his mother’s, mowing and trimming her lawn, and tending to any other chores she needed done.

Neal married Bobbie Williams of Sagle in 2003, and moved to her home there. Neal had to change jobs in 2015, due to his health. He missed driving but found employment at Walmart, leaving in 2022, again due to health reasons.

In January of 2023, he moved to Kinzler Homes, a small assisted living facility in Sagle, where Phil Kinzler and his crew gave him the best of care.

On July 12, 2024, at a regularly scheduled doctor visit, it was found that his blood was critically compromised. He was admitted to Kootenai Health, where he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an aggressive and hard to treat cancer. He was discharged back to Kinzler Homes on hospice, and passed away on July 31, 2024.

Neal is survived by his wife Bobbie at their Sagle home, daughter Melissa and granddaughter Emily, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, brother Kenneth of Moscow, Idaho, step sons Michael (Jodi) Williams and Patrick Williams, grandchildren Kylie (Cody), Devin, Logan, Olivia and Emmett, all of Sagle, and a bonus granddaughter, Samantha Roberts and her son Noah, Sandpoint.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents Wes and Joy Marcy, siblings Mark Marcy and Shirley Marcy, aunt Janet Marcy; and uncles Gordon Marcy and Ronald Marcy.
