Topping the billboard charts coming into the new year of 1974 was Jim Croce’s “Time in a Bottle,” and Barbara Streisand would have the top song of the year with  “The Way We Were.” People flocked to theaters to laugh raucously at Mel Brooks’ “Blazing Saddles.” Richard Nixon became the first U.S. president to resign. The World’ s Fair, Expo ‘ 74, opened in Spokane, the Kootenai Tribe declared war on the United States and the Bonners Ferry High School Class of ’74 graduated and dispersed on the four winds.

On Saturday, a good number of classmates, teachers and guests descended on the clubhouse at Mirror Lake Golf Course to celebrate their 50th class reunion.

In attendance were: seated (l-r) Craig Kelson, teachers Elsie Hollenbeck, Dottie Gray, Judy High and Bill Hayden, guest and Mark Hubbard.

Second and third rows (l-r) Glenda McNearney Poston, Kris Huggins Larson, Jackie Baker Mitson, Blake Couch, Lois Johnson, Glenda Felts, Shellye Lindsay, Randy Portrey, Linda Funkhouser Rustigan, Carol Maas Lucero, Brenda James Severson, Fred Nystrom, LaReen Mullin Gatzke and Tim Rosco.
