The brief but fierce wind storm that wreaked so much havoc across the region Wednesday evening claimed the life of a Lake Pend Oreille Alternative High School junior, hit by a falling tree.
Charlie Miller, 17, was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center, but did not survive.
“Charles like to fish, dirt biking, loved his father and brothers dearly,” his sister Mindy Hawkins said. “He was an all around kind heart.”
She set up a GoFundMe account to help with burial expenses.
