“Crazy busy” is how Boundary County election clerk Cherry Grainger describes this year’s election with just 11 days left on the countdown to what many say will be the most critical election in our nation’s history since Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860. As of 4:30 p.m. today, there were 8,296 registered voters, though the number changes rapidly.
Of those, 6,456 are of the party of L‌incoln, 1,379 identify as other, 457 as Democrats. Over 100 came into the clerk’s office to cast their ballots, as of 4:30 p.m., the number of in-person absentee votes cast was 2,135.
Voters can vote early at the Boundary County Clerk’s office during normal business hours and vote in person until 5 p.m. Friday, November 1, at 6452 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p .m. Tuesday, November 5.
