The Great Pumpkin brings Halloween fun to the Restorium

… And so in the year of 2024, the Cornman had brought to the Restorium a batch of pumpkins, and hiding amongst them must have been the Great Pumpkin, for ere the hallowed eve’s end, there were smiles old and young, grins and giggles galore, gifts given and laughter, hugs and handshakes exchanged in such an honest spirit of bon ami, we all hated to see the evening end! More photos added 7 p.m. Sunday, November 2.

In the employee’s pumpkin carving contest, the entries shone with talent and artistry, but no one expected that Tabitha had skewers to serve as lines and so to create a ship upon which all the other jack-o-lanterns could sail should they needs steady work, a wide berth and the promise of a treasure. For her adventuresome spirit, Tabitha Heirston was presented a brace of cutlery … should  any other a sassy pumpkin need carved.

The good neighbors from out in the hinterlands rode in on their pet velociraptor and enjoyed visiting … but the kids! Oh my goodness! “Rawr, rawr! Hiss … TRICK OR TREAT!  Thank you! RAWR!” So cute!

It’s not often staff at the Restorium find themselves confronted by a clan of ferocious trick-or-treating bears, but after fending off countless dinosaurs, fearless Jonalyn just joins in for a laugh!

Hazel knew she was mingling with a dangerous, dangerous crowd of little monsters, but she tamed them effortlessly with her innate charm … for as long as the candy held  out!

Those at the Restorium, residents and staff alike, extend thanks to all the bright-eyed monsters, superheroes, dinosaurs, princesses, bears, skunk … there was even an axolotl! … who stopped to trick or treat, the kids who stayed for the costume contest (and to residents Doreen and Bunny for doing the hard job of judging), to the wonderful and enthusiastic kids from Mt. Hall and the teachers, staff and parents who accompanied them … it was a joy watching them perform … and to the Friends of the Restorium, who help tremendously with, amid all else they do, holidays and celebrations year around. Thank you all for putting the community in Community Restorium! We look forward to seeing all of you along with the Great Pumpkin next Halloween!

These happy little amphibians don’t axolotl questions, but they sure are cute!
