Murreleen Skeen

Murreleen SkeenAfter a long, difficult, battle with cancer, Murreleen Skeen, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on November 3, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. A special thanks to all those who have cared for her during those difficult times. A Celebration of Life potluck will be held at the residence of Claine Skeen for close friends and family at a later date.

Born July 2, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, to Murrel and Freida Bigler, Murreleen was described as a bundle of joy. Murreleen was passionate about community and family from a very young age and participated in countless community engagement clubs over the years.

In 1968 Murreleen married Blaine “Bud” Skeen. They went on to be married for 25 years and had five children together. Murreleen was a fiercely dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was our biggest cheerleader and our constant supporter. Our family would not be where it is today if we didn’t have her in our lives. She served as a Boundary County Commissioner for six years and was actively involved with many civic and business leaders. Murreleen loved to read and crochet. She has outfitted many friends and family members with various hats, scarves, and afghans.

Mureleen was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine, her parents, Murrel and Frieda, and her brothers Robert and Roger. She is survived by her sister, Norma, five children: Erik, Claine, Anitre, Nathan, Karston, seventeen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
