Notice of sale of building, call for bids

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, sealed bids will be received by the Board of Trustees of Boundary County School District #101, Bonners Ferry, Idaho for the “Old” District Office/BCSD #101 Administration Building, 7188 Oak Street, Bonners Ferry, Boundary County, pursuant to Section 33-601, Idaho Code, as amended, has determined that it is in the best interest of Boundary County School District #101 to sell the property as identified below. An appraisal of school property as stated has been duly made.

Description of property to be sold as follows: Lot 6 through Lot 19, Eaton (School District #101), Section 26 T62N R1E. The building totals about 10,225 square feet on about .8 acres of land.

PLEASE NOTE: BUILDING AND PROPERTY ARE SOLD AS IS.

Sealed bids will be opened at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Boundary County School District# 101 Administration Office, 6770 Augusta Street, Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the time and place stated for receipt of sealed bids. Bids received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. It is anticipated that the bid will be awarded on or about, Monday, December 16, 2024 at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting.

No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for bid opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless award is delayed for a period exceeding 30 days.

The Boundary County School District# 101 Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

If anyone were to look back a few years ago at a reply(comment) I wrote in Boundary News pertaining to the Valley View situation, I brought up the idea of selling that old building then to help with the needed funding of Valley View School. It was about the time frame when a lady ran into the building. All I heard was crickets. Kind of reminds me of a time when I was on the safety board with Ron Smith. The issue then was dealing with the Kindergarten kids walking across the street due to someone drunk hitting a pole. I mentioned to Ron Smith at that time, why not set a temporary building up behind Valley View. All I got was crickets. It seems as though our voices are not listened to, but the good ol boys’ are. Humm
