Two undefeated teams met for competition last night in the Avista Holiday Tournament in Lewiston at the P1FCU Activity Center. The Badgers of Bonners Ferry and the Bengals of Lewiston went head-to-head in a battle of the unbeaten. In a back-and-forth contest, the Badgers came back from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take the win 58-55 bringing their record to 8-0 and leaving the Bengals with their first loss of the season with their record now 9-1.
Eli Blackmore ended the game with a phenomenal three point shot to solidify the win. Thomas Bateman led the Badgers in scoring with 19 points and Asher Williams added 15.
In true Badger fashion, the fans showed up and showed up big. The Badgers fans are known to travel well and yesterday was no exception. The stands were packed with blue and white at the P1FCU Activity Center with parents, friends, family and fans coming to support and cheer them on to victory.
The Badgers play tonight at 7:30 p.m. against the Moscow Bears in their second game of the tournament. Go Badgers!
