Joan ‘Missie’ Marie Cooper

Joan "Missie" Marie CooperJoan “Missie” Marie Cooper, 61, was born on April 7, 1963, in Stockton California. She died February 2. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 16, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison Street. Burial will take place in Moravia Cemetery.

Missie lived in Alaska, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah and Montana, but Idaho was always her home. She moved to Bonners Ferry where she spent most of her life. Here is where she did an amazing job at raising her kids all on her own. She was a very nurturing person always making you a cozy bed if you needed and catering to your needs. If you were ever down on your luck and needed a place to stay, she would open her home to you. She was the life of the party and never knew a stranger.

Family was very important to Missie, she would have her Sunday barbecues, and everyone was welcome. Some of the family’s best memories with Missie were in fact, these traditional Sunday barbecues. No matter what stage of life that Missie was in, somehow, someway she could make the person next to her laugh, and feel loved.

Missie loved and was loved by many. She was super excited and proud to be a mother, grandma, and great grandma.

On February 2, she was reunited with her beloved son Tony, her mother Joan, her father Melvin as well as some of her fur babies.

Those she leaves behind are her children: Cassandra, Brandon and Kristie. Her grandchildren Anthony, Nicholas, Mariah, Isaiah and soon to be baby girl. Her great grandchildren Bentley and Remedy. A brother Tracy, and step mom Myrna. As well as other family and friends.

We will miss your laugh, your smile and your words of encouragement. We love you more!
