It’s time to give back. Let’s help the Turners!

Sharks Cove Lava Rocks

By Katie Banning

Lucas and Charli Turner, owners of Turner Plumbing, 9B Family Foundations and Foundations school were blessed with a gift of a trip to Hawaii just a few weeks back. They traveled to a Plumbing conference in Maui and then planned for their children to meet them in Oahu the following week.

Just relaxing in Hawaii!

The first week went as planned, but once arriving in Oahu and taking a leisurely family adventure to the beach, the trip took a turn for the worse.

Charli and Colten were exploring a lava reef right off the shore when a wave slammed against the reef and knocked Charli out into the water.  Luckily, Colten, was close by and was able to reach her and signal to his dad for help. Lucas rushed to his wife and Peyton; her son was close behind. Even some locals rushed in to help pull her from the water and get her to safety. The girls ran for help and towels and finally the ambulance arrived.

Two ambulances rides, two hospitals and a trauma floor later, Charli is still in the hospital.  Her leg was severely wounded.  Her bone was showing, and muscle had been ripped from it.  Lava rock set camp between her flesh and bone and the surgeons, not once, but twice, debrided and cleaned and re-attached muscle.

The Turners are facing hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of medical bills. They have been so generous to this community over the years and this time, they need you. Please pray, pray and pray more and if you feel led there is a link to the GoFundMe page, or you can private message 9B News if you would like to donate directly.
