The Badgers hosted the Post Falls Trojans on Thursday night for senior night. The lone senior, Sofia Brown, the daughter Sam and Diana Brown, took the mat and made the Badgers proud.
Sofia Brown finished the last home match of her high school career with a pin. Raylee Reynolds of Post Falls didn’t have a chance and in the third period, went down. This was a great match to end her senior season.
Aubree Graves had two wins for the evening. She wrestled up a weight class to pin Emma Young of Post Falls and then wrestled back down to pin Candice Fishman of Post Falls.
Neviah Therrien had a nail bitter of a match going back and forth with Isabella Rice of Post Falls and ended it with a win of 12 to 10.
As well as they did, the lady Badgers fell to the Trojans 27-30.
The Badger boys took on Post Falls Junior Varsity Thursday night in the Badger Den winning the dual 60 to 24. The boys came out in a pinning mode as they had pins by Taylor Dodd, Illikai Aitken, Jacob Solt, Gaige Johnson, Israel Johnson, Maddox Mertzweiller, Hunter Pope, Ethan Matthews, Robert Kelsey, Duff Wilson and James Graves. A great way to finish out the season with home-mat advantage.
Both Boys and Girls will be competing in districts next week. The girls will wrestle on Feb 19th in Moscow and the boys will wrestle on February 21st at Timberlake to have a chance to advance on to the Idaho State Wrestling Championships in Pocatello, Idaho. The state championship tournament will be February 27th through March 1st. Times to be announced.
Go Badgers!
