Danielle Ahrens, a long-time resident of North Idaho, passed away suddenly on February 13, 2025, in Cle Elum, Washington. At her request, there will be no service, but her family asks that you take a walk through nature in her honor, appreciating God’s beautiful design as she loved to do.
Danielle is survived by her daughters, Amanda (Willie Cowell) Cristler and Alexus (Jason) Kump, beloved grandson, Grayson Cowell, brother Don Maddy, sister Lori Cruit and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Colleen Maddy, sisters Kathleen Maddy and Dana Maddy and brother Duane Maddy.
Danielle spent her early career working in law enforcement in Sacramento, California. She retired after moving to North Idaho and became active in local politics. She was extremely active in local Republican committees and campaigns and was always looking for ways to improve her community and state.
Danielle kept busy with family, extended family and friends and had a love for adventure, travel, ranching, farming and gardening. She was also an avid reader and the family historian. She had recently moved to Washington state to join her partner Steve Plesha on his ranch, and was looking forward to continuing a busy life of politics, travel and ranch life with him. The family would like to thank Steve for the love he showed Danielle during this last phase of her life.
