Judge Susie Jensen ended a minutes long sentencing hearing this morning by issuing no-bond warrant for Daniel Floyd, who did not appear. Floyd pled guilty to unlawful possession of destructive devices, three pipe bombs he made and allegedly planned to use to kill his Old Addie Road neighbors over a dispute regarding a shared well.
Floyd was released on his own recognizance after he changed his plea to guilty last year.
According to his attorney, Floyd said he had emergency surgery this morning but had not provided documentation; a check of North Idaho hospitals showed he was not a patient in any from Kootenai Health north to Boundary Community Hospital.
Neighbor David Eccles, who along with his wife Kim have had to contend with Floyd since 2018, called his failure to appear entirely predictable.
“I expected this,” David said. “The pressure continues.”
He said he’s concerned that while they were in court, Floyd might be on Old Addie Road, fulfilling his promise to burn down both the Eccles’ home and his, now scheduled to be sold at sheriff’s sale to pay damages awarded the Eccles in a civil suit over “the Old Addie Road Water Wars.”
If anyone sees Floyd or has information on where he might be, call 911.
