Dodd wins again!

By Piper Banning

Sophomore, Taylor Dodd, weighing in at 232 pounds, continued his dominance as he won his second district I-II 285lb heavyweight title and punched his ticket to the Idaho State Championships next week in Pocatello, Idaho.

Stryder Liermann in the 138-weight class and Jacob Solt in the 190-weight class, both placing first in their perspective weight classes will be joining him in the state tournament.

Additionally, second placers, Hunter Pope in the 144-weight class and Gaige Johnson in the 165-weight class will be headed to state as the Badgers were granted just two wild cards. Unfortunately, Duff Wilson, Ethan Matthews and Illikai Aitken also placing second, did not quite make the state cut and will be staying behind to cheer their team on from home with third placers for the Badgers; Israel Johnson and Eivind Falck.

For the girls, Kylie Calderone wrestling in the 100-weight class, Nevaeh Therrien in the 107-weight class and Sofia Brown in the 138-weight class will also be traveling to Pocatello next weekend to the state tournament.

Congratulations and good luck at state!

Go Badgers!
