Williams to coach Team Idaho, this Saturday

Bonners Ferry’s own Nathan Williams, head coach of the Bonners Ferry High School boys’ varsity basketball team and back-to-back state champion coach, has been named head coach of ‘Team Idaho’ or the ‘Region’ for the 22nd Annual Statewide All-Star Games that will take place, this Saturday, March 15th at North Idaho College in Christensen Gymnasium.

According to http://www.idahocountyfreepress.com, “The seniors-only event will feature some of the best players from around Idaho. The teams are divided into Region and Metro, with “Metro” being the Treasure Valley and “Region” being the rest of Idaho.”

The girls game begins at 1 p.m. with the boys’ game kicking off at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

For the girls, Team Idaho will be coached by Sunny Evans of Pocatello and for Team Idaho the boys will be coached by Nathan Williams of Bonners Ferry.

“The event is sanctioned by the Idaho High School Athletic Association and is the only basketball all-star event featuring selected athletes from throughout the state of Idaho.”

According to http://www.idahosports.com, “Idahosports selected this year’s senior all-star basketball players. The games will include a 3-point shooting competition for both boys and girls, as well a slam-dunk contest between the games.”
