After nearly three weeks on the lam after a no-bond warrant was issued February 21 when he failed to appear for sentencing, the U.S. Marshal’s Service notified the intended victim of a bomb plot this morning that Daniel Peter Floyd has been taken into custody in Indiana.
After seven years of torture, David and Kim Eccles can at last rest easy and get on with their lives after disputes over a shared well erupted into what Dave Eccles now dubs the “Old Addie Water Wars,” which eventually cost Floyd his home and property in settlement of a civil suit and resulted in felony charges in April, 2024, when a former girlfriend caught him making bombs he said were intended for the Eccles.
Floyd pled guilty to unlawful possession of destructive devices on November 20, 2024, and was released on his own recognizance.
“The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that Daniel Floyd, a fugitive who fled the state and missed multiple court dates ahead of sentencing, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Indiana on March 12, 2025,” reads a press release posted on Facebook this morning. “Floyd had been evading authorities after failing to appear for scheduled court dates related to his pending sentencing in Boundary County. Following a coordinated effort, the U.S. Marshals Service located and apprehended him, ending his time as a fugitive.
“Sheriff Travis Stolley praised the Marshals’ efforts, stating, ‘This arrest underscores our commitment to working with federal partners to ensure justice is served.’ Floyd is currently in custody and awaiting extradition to Boundary County to face sentencing.”
UPDATE 11:12 a.m.
“This morning, Daniel P. Floyd, 58, was arrested in Fort Wayne, Indiana,” the U.S. Marshals Service wrote in a press release to 255 media outlets. “In 2024, Floyd was convicted in Bonners Ferry, Idaho for Unlawful Possession of Destructive Devices or Bombs. On February 21, 2025, Floyd failed to show up for his sentencing hearing. Subsequently on the same day, the First Judicial District Court in Boundary County issued an arrest warrant for Floyd for Failure to Appear, which caused concern for numerous members of the community in Bonners Ferry.
“The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) learned Floyd fled the state sometime after the arrest warrant was issued. Investigators believed he did not intend to return to Idaho.
“The USMS Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force worked closely with the USMS Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in Indiana to apprehend Floyd. He is now booked at the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne awaiting his return to Bonners Ferry to face his sentence.
United States Marshal for the District of Idaho Brent Bunn is pleased with the law enforcement partnerships in North Idaho and around the nation. U.S. Marshal Bunn thanks the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office and the USMS Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force with apprehending the dangerous criminal.”
I’ve seen piles of neighbors reporting illigal activities and problems with neighbors being threatened, false police reports verified as false, trespass orders not enforced by law, businesses that are ran outside of permits or having permits, police violating civil rights many many MANY times, judges, prosecutor office turning a blind eye to evidence, profiling, and I can go on. Why would this case along with The Pearl Theater case take a year, 5 years, This county needs to be overhauled.
I want every person to understand that when you call dispatch about an issue, the department that has jurisdiction; by law HAS to investigate. They have to come to you and see what the issue is and DO THEIR JOBS.
