The Bonners Ferry Badgers hosted the 77th annual middle school basketball tournament this year. Kellogg Middle School, Kootenai Classical Academy, St. Maries Middle School, Priest River Middle School and Timberlake Middle School joined Bonners Ferry Middle School in a double elimination tournament this weekend in snowy Bonners Ferry.
The 7th grade team, coached by Shane Banning went undefeated for the season and won the district and tournament championship. “The boys played a great season, and we had a great group to coach. I am so proud

of the work and dedication that they put into the season!” Shane says of his team.
The 8th grade team, coached by Greg Kissee and Dustin Woelfle went 9-1 for the season and undefeated in the tournament. He boasts about his team saying, “We had a really good year this year, it’s a great group of kids. They have big hearts, are athletic and play hard. I’ve coached some of these kids since 5th grade and they’ve come a long way. I can’t wait to watch them in high school.”
The ‘B’ team, coached by Jesse Banning went 4-2 for the season coming from 0-7 last year.
Coach Jesse spoke fondly of his team, “All of these boys worked their tails off this season. They were a great group of boys and had such a great attitude through it all. I grew to love each of them, and I am excited to see what next year holds.”
