Floyd returned, to be sentenced Wednesday

Daniel Peter Floyd

After missing a few hearings and skipping state, Daniel Peter Floyd is back in the Boundary County Jail and a new sentencing hearing has been set for unlawful possession of destructive devices or bombs he said he’d planned to use on Old Addie Road neighbors with whom he’d an ongoing dispute over a shared well.

The Old Addie Road Water War erupted in 2018 over a disputed well maintenance agreement that resulted in a civil suit that resolved earlier this year in damages being awarded to his neighbors, David and Kim Eccles, and Floyd losing his home and property to pay.

He was charged with the felony criminal complaint April 4, 2024, after a former girlfriend found him making three pipe bombs in his shop as hearings on the civil case neared.

He initially pled not guilty, and was released on $20,000 on June 7 until he missed a pre-trial conference September 4. He was returned to custody on $100,000 bond September 19.

He changed his plea to guilty November 20, 2024, and was released on his own recognizance after showing he was being treated for cancer, though he was declared cancer-free the same day. On February 21, 2025, he failed to appear for sentencing and a no bond warrant was issued.

He was captured by the U.S. Marshal’s Service March 13 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and extradited back to Boundary County on Thursday, March 27, where he is in custody in the Boundary County Jail pending his sentencing hearing at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, in the Boundary County Courthouse before Judge Susie Jensen. Floyd faces up to five years in prison and/or a fine not to exceed $5,000.
