Bonners Ferry Chapter AP of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) will be sponsoring multiple college scholarships for female graduates of Bonners Ferry High School again this year.
Last year’s scholarships recipients included Ana Chase ($1,000), Braylyn Bayer ($1,000), and Asha Abubakari ($1,000, Mary Hayes Scholarship), Paige Bennett ($500) and Nora Young ($500). Our scholarships are funded from two local fundraisers, a spring yard sale and holiday nut sales.
This year’s yard sale will be Friday and Saturday, April 18 & 19, from 9am to 3pm at the Church of the Nazarene, 158 Meadow Creek Road, Bonners Ferry, ID. The yard sale will include clothes, household goods, fabric, and plants for your home and garden.
The mission of P.E.O., founded over 150 years ago, is to provide inspiration and educational opportunities for women.
Chapter AP in Bonners Ferry, started in 1937, began providing local college scholarships in 1956. Since 2000 the chapter has provided over 40 college scholarships for local women.
