
The Varsity Badger softball team, coached by Cindy Sumpter and Flora Wolf, took two big wins today against the Eureka Lions.
The Badgers started off strong in game one with seven runs in the first inning. They kept the momentum and ended game one 28-17.
To follow in step with the first game, the lady Badgers started off strong in the second game with five runs the first inning, six in the second and five in the third to end the game with the mercy rule, 16-0.
Head Coach Cindy Sumpter was elated about the wins today, “We batted with confidence and ran bases aggressively. The team was positive and loud. We were patient in the batting box and took advantage of opportunities to advance. It was great being able to start the season at home with a couple wins!”
The Badgers are now 2-0 for the season. Their next game will be Saturday, April 5, 2025, at home at 2 p.m. against the Troy, Trojans.
