Gearing up for a patriotic Fourth of July

Parade planners Charli and Lucas Turner are already hard at work getting ready for the Bonners Ferry Fourth of July parade, and it’s time for the community to begin gearing up as well.

Here are the details … Time to start prepping!!

Theme: “A Salute to Heroes of Freedom, Honoring Those Who Serve.” Think military, veterans, first responders, police.

Judging/Prize Categories:

  • Best Overall Float– Celebrating the most impressive and creative float in the parade.
  • Best Patriotic Display– Honoring the float that best embodies the spirit of Independence Day.
  • Most Inspiring Tribute – Recognizing the float or group with the most touching tribute to military members or first responders.
  • Best Musical Performance – Judging marching bands, choirs or any musical acts for their energy and skill.
  • Best Use of Theme– Awarding the float or entry that most creatively aligns with the parade’s theme.
  • Best Youth Participation– Highlighting groups of kids or teens who bring energy and enthusiasm to the parade.
  • Crowd Favorite– Letting spectators vote on their favorite parade entry.
  • Best Costumes– Praising the most vibrant and well-executed outfits.
  • Best Decorated Vehicle– For military or first responder vehicles dressed up for the day.
  • Spirit of the Community Award– Recognizing the group that best represents the unity and pride of the local community.
