The Bonners Ferry Badgers were impressive at the North Idaho Hall of Fame banquet at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Saturday night, four entering the 2024-2025 class of inductees out of 11 Badger nominees, including the back-to-back Idaho State 3A boys basketball champion team, the Bonners Ferry Badgers.

Of course Daddy Badger was in attendance, sharing a congratulatory moment with Sydney Hinthorn.

Braylyn Bayer, now playing for Weber State, brought home her third straight induction for 3A-1A girls golf after winning her second Idaho 3A individual title. Her sister, Avery Bayer was a nominee.

Ending the season winning 15 games by 24 points or more and 14 by 30 or more on their way to a 24-1 season, their only loss by just five points to the 6A Lake City Timberwolves before winning all three of their state games by double digits, the North Idaho 4A-1A Boys Team of the Year Badger boys basketball team saw its top player and coach enter the hall as individuals.

Coach Nathan Williams earned boys 4A-1A Coach of the Year, and his son Asher Williams, the number-eight all time scorer in Idaho high school history with over 2,000 points and who shattered a 35-year BFHS scoring record with a 50 point game, was inducted in the Boys Basketball 4A-1A category, nominated along with teammate Thomas Bateman.

Other Badger nominees were Brody Rice, 4A-1A Male Athlete of the Year, Sydney Hinthorn, 4A-1A Girls Basketball, Helene Rae, 4A-1A Volleyball, Trey Bateman, 3A-1A Boys Baseball and Nikita Rawson, Boys Soccer.

Makeen Loretto and Brooke Petesch each brought home fifth annual Hagadone Character Awards.

Way to shine, Badgers!
